California Allied for Patient Protection (CAPP)
The San Luis Obispo County Medical Association has joined Californians Allied for Patient Protection (CAPP). CAPP is a coalition of physicians, hospitals, community clinics and other healthcare providers advocating in the California State Legislature to preserve MICRA, the Medical Injury Compensation Reform Act. MICRA helps doctors stay in business caring for patients by keeping our medical liability premiums low and ensuring injured patients receive fair compensation.

As a member of CAPP, the San Luis Obispo County Medical Association joins 27 medical societies, and its statewide partner, the California Medical Association. Dozens of other groups are members of CAPP including the American College of Emergency Physicians (CA), American Nurses Association (CA), California Children's Hospital Association, Aging Services of California, Planned Parenthood, American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and many more.
